Beautiful Star

I missed a week, but here is another post. On New Year's day, our family hosted the Mullen's Christmas party. It was a small but nice gathering. We had a yummy potluck dinner followed by some serious wii games.

This is the gift that our family received:

What a perfect gift. It is just so beautiful--and we can leave it up all year long to enjoy. Thank you so very much for thinking of us!

Happy New Year!

Wow, what a year! Where has the time gone? I can't believe that this is the last day of 2009. It has been a busy year. We thank God that we are all healthy and happy.

We had a wonderful Christmas, and we still have four more Christmas celebrations to go!

I have been spending my day cleaning and making preparations for 2010. I am working on my goals (not resolutions!) and hope to have them squared away by tomorrow. This evening Alex is going over to a friends house for a sleepover. Troy and I told the littles that we would have our own New Year's Eve party here. We are going to have baked haddock and baked potatoes--yummy! We will play some games and watch some movies. For a snack we will have hot fudge brownie sundaes! Have a blessed new year's eve!

Resolutions

I have always wanted to stick to my New Year's resolutions, but after a month or two I forget what they even were. This year my plan is to have monthly goals. For me, that will be easier to stick to. For January 2009 I want to set these goals for myself:
  • Read one book--cover to cover
  • Clean out the master bedroom and closets
  • Drink more water
  • Begin walking for Crazylegs event in April
  • Save $200 for emergency fund
  • Have Milbrath's over for a lunch or dinner
  • Have Shackley's over for a lunch or dinner

Wish me luck! I hope to update throughout the month on my progress.

SNOW, SNOW, and more SNOW

Well, we were pounded with snow over the past two days. I believe our total for the storm was 14.5 inches. That is a lot of snow. The two little ones and I went out and played for a little bit in the afternoon. Our oldest was already out frollicing with friends. I love winter, but I think I can safely say that I can't wait for it to be over.

It snowed so much that Ash Wednesday services were rescheduled for this evening at 7pm. Let's all pray that we are done with snow for a few days. Have a great rest of your week.
